Meet the team
David Adamson MA CA (Director)
David graduated from Edinburgh University in 1976 and, after a conversion course in Accountancy, trained with Ernst & Whinney in Edinburgh before qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1981. He then joined the firm of McKerrell Brown & Gray CA and was a partner there for over 20 years, having responsibility for most of the firm’s audit, a portfolio of clients, and some charity clients. When the firm was taken over by Gibson & Co in 2006, David was retained as a consultant and set up his own forensic accounting practice, Adamson Forensic Accounting Ltd, which is the only Scottish member of the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants (“NIFA”). He joined Alba in June 2009 and divides his time between Alba and his forensic work. He is currently a trustee of the Autism Treatment Trust, an Edinburgh-based charity which treats autistic clients from many countries.

Asrar Un-Nabi ACCA (Manager)
Asrar graduated from the University of Dundee in 1996 with honours degree in Accountancy (BAcc Hons). He passed his ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) exams in 2002 and recently became a member of ACCA. He has four years’ industry experience as an accountant and has spent over 10 years in public practice. He is experienced in implementing computerised accounting and payroll systems for various businesses; this includes software and hardware selection, installation and training. During his student days, Asrar worked in restaurant trade for over 3 years; he is specialist in restaurant business and has been helping clients in this sector for many years.
Asrar has a keen interest in NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) and has trained with world leading experts in this field. In addition to being an accountant, he can help clients reach their full potential.

Jolene Zhao MSc (Finance)
Jolene graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2006 with a Masters degree in Finance. She is very dedicated to her work and she is at the final stages of qualifying as a fully fledged accountant. She is expert in payroll, VAT returns and preparing accounts. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, socialising, hill walking and regularly takes part in charity work.
